I had been walking the Continental Divide Trail in Wyoming’s Wind River Range for a few days, encountering just a few people a day and only briefly, in passing, when I in the shade of forest beside very remote August Lake. It was early morning and there was no wind, so the lake was absolutely still, so I got busy with my camera before leaving that lake.
