Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne River, Yosemite National Park (horizontal)

In the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne River, deep in the backcountry of Yosemite National Park, there’s a spot where the Tuolumne River hits a flat section and gets completely calm, like a small lake, reflecting the forest and cliffs beyond. The canyon is more than 30 miles long, twice the length of Yosemite Valley and resembling it in many ways, but without the roads, buildings, and crowds. The only way to see the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne is by backpacking through it. There’s also a vertical image of this scene available.
