There’s a point along the John Muir Trail in Yosemite National Park where you get this awe-inspiring view of the “back side” of Half Dome, Liberty Cap, and 594-foot Nevada Fall. The 6.3-mile loop hike combining the northernmost segment of the John Muir Trail and the Mist Trail, which passes below both Nevada Fall and 317-foot Vernal Fall (shown in other photos also available), brings hikers to this overlook.
