May Lake is a popular spot that can be reached on a short hike, with a High Sierra Camp and a backcountry campground for backpackers just west of Tuolumne Meadows and north of Tioga Road in Yosemite. From May Lake, you can hike to the summit of Mount Hoffmann, often described as having “the best 360 in Yosemite.” I shot this photo as the late-afternoon sun fired rays at a low angle across the lake.
