Sallie Keyes Lake along the John Muir Trail, John Muir Wilderness (horizontal)

Backpacking the John Muir Trail southbound in the John Muir Wilderness, not far beyond Selden Pass, my two companions and I reached the Sallie Keyes Lakes in late afternoon and found a campsite in the forest a short walk from the eastern lake. Although not as well known as, say, Marie Lake or Thousand Island Lake, the Sallie Keyes Lakes are a lovely spot with plenty of protected, nice campsites. In the calm air early the next morning, I shot this photo of the mirror-like lake reflecting the peaks above it.
