Sitting at the base of cliffs usually populated by mountain goats along the Continental Divide Trail between St. Mary and Two Medicine in Glacier, Morning Star Lake has a backcountry campground in the forest a short walk from the lakeshore—which means that backpackers camping there have a chance to see how the sunrise and sunset transform that landscape. This shot was taken looking directly across the lake at the cliffs on its opposite side.
