Yosemite National Park Outdoor Photography

Few places inspire us like Yosemite. Relive that inspiration through these photos.

Few places inspire the same powerful sense of awe as Yosemite National Park.

And more than three decades of hiking and backpacking all over America’s third national park have taught me that Yosemite’s backcountry harbors such an abundance of soaring granite peaks, lovely waterfalls, rivers and creeks, and shimmering alpine lakes—all protected within 700,000 acres of designated wilderness—that you can walk the park’s hundreds of miles of trails for decades and not run out of five-star scenery.

Besides iconic corners of the park like Yosemite Valley, the Mist Trail and John Muir Trail, Upper Yosemite Falls, Vernal and Nevada Fall, and Half Dome, the photos below capture some of my favorite parts of the backcountry, including May Lake, the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne River, and the view from the summit of Clouds Rest.

Scroll through my photos and see which of these images of Yosemite you’d like to own.
